I65 Detroit to Nashville

driving to nashville this August. I am terrified of mountain driving. I drove to Charleston on 77 a few years ago and it scared the heck out of me. there are absolutely no websites/info on different grades I may encounter on the drive to Nashville. We are taking 75 to 71 into Louisville for the night and the 65 from Louisville to Nashville. Please ANY info on how hilly this will be will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Nothing more than some rolling hills on that route.

    You should get a road atlas and check the map. If you are not crossing the Appalachians in the eastern US, there are no mountains to contend with.

    I've been driving I75, I65, I71, I74 all my life (well, as long as I can remember in 62 years), and never a problem. Even I64, and I77 in West Virginia isn't so bad. As stated above, it's all Interstate, fairly gentle climbs and fairly gently down-hills. Now, if you want more of a challenge, drive I40 from Knoxville, TN to Ashville, NC. It's not so much the actual road, it's the crazy semi-truck drivers that are frightening on I-40.

    We take this route to Florida all the time. There are rolling hills only a couple thousand feet max. No mountains whatsoever. Very easy drive, all interstate.

    Google maps may have a topo/elevation layer. Have you tried that?
