I95 construction in South Carolina MM6

I95 southbound just north of the GA line at milepost 6, a section of cracked concrete is being cut out and replaced, traffic backed up to exit 28. If southbound drivers want to avoid this get off at exit 33 Point South, take the frontage road that is on the west side of I95, this is the old US-17. Stay on this until you get to Hardeeville and it will put you back on I95 at exit 5 just past the construction. The old route 17 is big rig friendly. If you are going to Savannah just stay on 17 all the way and come in over the Talmadge bridge downtown. Southbound drivers are losing up to an hour or more during peak times of the delay sitting in the backup.
