Opinions a Please re Toad or No Toad!

We are planning a road trip from Vancouver Island to Ottawa ! Obviously there will be stops along the way for a Day here a week there Etc.
Part of the trip we intend to foray into the USA to visit friends and see some of the sights .
Eg. Mount Rushmore, a few Automotive Museums such as Studebaker ,and Henry Ford plus any other interesting suggestions you may have..

We intend to visit friends in Ontario near Thornebury .we also expect to see many of the historic sites along the Rideau and St Lawrence Seaway south of Ottawa.

We will be visiting Dauphin Mb and Riding Mountain National Park!

As well we intend to visit the Regina , Moosejaw area and probably Saskatoon .

We will have just under two months to enjoy everything possible!

The big decision is :

Do we take along the Tow Car or can we survive without it?

Our Moho is 39 Feet the Toad is a Honda CRV!

    We have made the trip from Saskatoon, SK to Ottawa, ON twice; in 2007 and in 2013. Both times in a 40’ motorhome, pulling a toad. We don’t leave home without the toad.

    For both trips we left Saskatoon and stopped in the following towns. You can use a paper map or Google Map to see the route.

    In 2007, left Saskatoon, SK - Regina, SK – Brandon, MB – Thunder Bay, ON – Marathon, ON – Montreal River Harbour, ON – Sault Ste Marie, ON – Sudbury, ON – Ottawa, ON. The 2007 trip was 3,100 km

    In 2013, left Saskatoon, SK – Yorkton, SK – Portage la Prairie, MB – Kenora, ON – Ignace, ON – Thunder Bay, ON – Geraldton, ON – Moonbeam, ON – North Bay, ON – Ottawa, ON. The 2013 trip was 3,000 km.

    For scenery we preferred the route taken in 2013 but in 2007 we had a real good time in Sault Ste Marie and Sudbury.

    If you are visiting Mt. Rushmore, don't miss Badlands NP about an hour east just off I 90, and the national Minuteman Missle site off the same exit. You can reserve a site in the Badlands campground, if you do it early enough. You might get lucky and get a site with electricity, else dry camping.

    I also have a 39' Class A pusher, and tow a Honda CRV. When we first started years ago with a Class C, we rented a car at our destination. Not a very good option, in my opinion. We would not consider even a short trip without the toad.

    Next question...We have done B.C. and Alberta so we’re thinking I 90 then up itnto Sask!

    We are contemplating the very same issue while planning a future trip up through BC, Yukon, and into Alaska. However, the current idea for us is NO tow car. Our RV is a Winnebago Fuse at 24 feet long....easily maneuverable in city streets and easy to park. In your case, at 39 feet I would absolutely take a tow car. Too many places you would want to see that would be difficult to access with a 39 foot motor home.

    Might see more than a few narrower roads, especially in the older parts of the inner cities. I'd pull.

    "Plant" the MH like I do my TT and explore with the toad.
