I often stop to respond to a note only to realize that the is author looking form something so removed from what I know that it was a waste of my time and bandwidth to look at it. I really don't mind offering the benefit of our travel experience, but please try to be more specific with the topic. OK, There aren't many Yellowstones, but there are many lakes with the same or similar names. I can't even guess how many Yogi Bear, Jellystone parks or Holiday Resorts there are. US 20 goes almost all the way across. (We have only drive the eastern half.)Any or the urban arterials exist in many places with the same number. IE: There six unrelated pieces of highway numbered I-495. I-275, I-475 and I-675 appear and disappear all along the I-75 corridor. Don't even get me started on the I-X95... As said, I don't mind helping, but please try to give us a better location. Matt

Don't I know it. I'm a native Cincinnatian. I71 S, I75 S and I-74 E all join with I-275 around Cincinnati. I-275 used to be called the circle freeway. After they cross the Ohio River over the Brent Spence Bridge (say that three times real fast), then I-71 S and I-75 S split again and I-74 just disappears. I wonder sometimes if strangers have gotten lost in the mess and are still driving around trying to get out.

I think some posters just don't bother reading their own writing.

A few years ago someone posted the question asking about what campgrounds people recommended around Jacksonville. I asked which state. The OP replied with "Jacksonville FL. Just how many Jacksonvilles do you think there is?" Some people live in a very small world and barely get outside their immediate area.

Agree. I've driven thru YOUR Jacksonville a few times.

I laugh to myself sometimes reading those! This is not a local newspaper.......LOL.BTW, I'm going to Green Springs soon. Anyone camped there??

Well not to go off topic because it is related, we often see specific numbered roads referred to as route/highway XX. This is totally useless information. Please include a moniker to identify it as an Interstate, US highway, state road or county road etc.

While I agree it's a bit frustrating, but really? 2-3 seconds is going to eat up how much valuable time when you're just playing? If bandwith is an issue I'd highly recommend an equipment upgrade. There ARE a lot of people who haven't traveled far. Cut them slack. You were there once too. If it bothers you so much to click on a topic you aren't sure on, then just don't waste those precious 2-3 seconds and don't click!

Fortunately this forum shows the text of the OP when you hover over the subject line. So you don't have to go entirely by the cryptic subject line.

I don't know which is worse, the 'help please' subject line, or the 'Wickenberg to Cottonwood...' type. I was told in one such case that if I didn't recognize the names I had no business contributing to the thread.

Informative subject lines also help the OP - by getting the attention of people who really know.

Sloppy route number labels bug me too. Usually though they don't lead to serious confusion. Interstate, Federal, and state numbers rarely overlap in the same area.

But I realize many posters who ask questions like this are new, and cut them a lot of slack.

(my own posts have a lot of typos).
