Where are the RV's?

I am bringing in multiple RV caravans this year but only as far as Penasco. January, February and March are pretty full. Some stay at Playas de Oro, some stay at Playa Bonita but most of the big caravans are staying at the Reef RV. It should be a good year.

It appears that RV'ing in Mexico is almost totally DEAD. I am not seeing RV's on the road in Mexico.

I am finishing up a 8000 mile trip thru the USA and Mexico. There are thousands and thousands of RV in Quartzsite, Winterhaven, Yuma and the rest of the south west USA. Parks are full of Canadians too. Totonaka in San Carlos was about 80% occupied.

I would wager that there are more RV's in Yuma than in all of Mexico

We had a change of plan when we arrived in SMA. We got an even better deal for storage at the Hotel San Ramon and Rv Park. The charge was less than 100 pesos per night on a concrete pad. We stayed in the RV the last night at 360 pesos so we could hook up and take off early a.m.

The Hotel had many guests but the concrete rv pads had only two rvs. A fifth wheel in storage and a woman who comes yearly in a small Casita. The grassy rv park portion had five rvs and three were in storage and one was actually a very nice office-type trailer with a huge awning.

Again, coming home we stopped in Matehuala at the Hotel Oasis. Over at the Las Palmas, the RV park was again empty.

The highway and trip were very comfortable. We hit some construction on Hwy 85 north of Linares, Nuevo Leon.

Nice to have the RV behind us and we are ready now to take some more trips. Have a good year!

We arrived in Matehuala yesterday afternoon. The mountain pass was wet with heavy fog and at about 1500 meters the sun broke through. Good highway all the way down Hwy 57.

We parked at the Hotel Oasis across from Las Palmas. Oasis has one site with electric-only 200 pesos. We walked over to Las Palmas for dinner and the RV park was empty.

We continue on to San Miguel de Allende and will store the RV at Glamping San Miguel de Allende for a week and then on to Peña de Bernal.

I hope we see some rvers at San Ramon and Glamping and along the rest of the trip.

You are right that comparing this year's attendance with previous years will help me determine if people are traveling.

Depending on what was seen and who was doing the seein, last year was fairly busy. Some said less people , some said more. This will be our 22...or 23 year, I forget.... and the crowds vary each year. We'll see this year and try to S.W.A.G. a guess.

RVing has changed. The mfrs. are sold out until late 2022. BUT most of these sales are the cheaper slapped together travel trailers. I am guessing they are sold to younger people. Just try getting into a CG in the summer. Some parks are not taking reservations until the fall of 2022. Takes the joy out of summer travelling. Unfortunately those younger people will not be coming to Mexico. Not their "thing". Many of the Mexico travelers that used to post here are either dead or in ill health. BUT fly in tourism is at all time highs. The expat population has increased. Dylan was correct.

We went to Myrtle Beach for 10 days and got back last Thursday. Took I-40 to Wilmington and US 17 to Myrtle. Park was not full although the weather was fantastic. Parked just over the dunes from the ocean. Came back up the I-74 way and saw quite a few RVs heading South. Leaving for Fl South of Tampa the 28th and looking forward to a good trip. Been a lot of miles since covid and no crowds to speak of. Got 3 Phizer shots, thats all I can do and keep rollling. Everyone stay safe.

I believe I met you there a couple of years ago? Wasn't there a booth in the tent? .....or we'll see you at the Reef in February when you being some caravans in?
