A couple of pics from our stay at Jordan Lake SP Crosswinds

Then I guess we won't be staying there. I often get up early to shoot sunrise and other early morning photos, go fishing, or otherwise get the day's activities started earlier than 8am. And we do quite often get back in later than 8pm. Too bad, looks like a nice campground otherwise.

Emergency personnel can get in, they have a procedure/protocol they follow. It's nothing new.

What happens in an emergency after 8 pm?

You cant get back in unless you find a host there whos willing to come out and unlock it.

I believe the N.C. state parks at Jordan Lake that stay open through the winter, close at 6 PM, with no in or out after that.

Pics look great! We love shaded and secluded sites to camp. But, looking over their website and rules, they list that the gates are closed 8pm to 8am! Not only that, but no parking outside the gate, towing enforced, etc. Looking for feedback on this from anyone who has actually stayed there. What if you go into Raleigh or somewhere for dinner and don't get back until 11pm for example? Can you not get back in to your camper? We cook most nights when camping and love that but sometimes you just want to go to Ruth Chris and have a steak you know. What has been your experience with this? Seems like awfully restrictive rules to me. And looking at other state campgrounds, this seems to be the norm in NC. Do they really lock the gate so you can't get back in late?

If we ever decide to make it to that area sometime, we will have to check it out.

We spent this past weekend on site C-30 over looking the lake. We really like Crosswinds, too.
