Camping or Christmas Shopping?

I know, both! Premium Outlet Mall in Osage Beach, Lake of the Ozarks SP a few miles away--Perfect! Friday means no crowds at either place. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
  • Neither. Too cold to camp. And I'm single with no living relatives, so no Christmas shopping. Although I'm getting to the age where I could buy myself a gift on Christmas Eve, have it wrapped, open it on Christmas morning and be surprised.
  • Camping! Sent cards and presents early and am spending a couple of weeks in Organ Pipe Cactus NM. I hate shopping!

    So sorry to hear that.

I hope you have some friends to enjoy the holiday with. Merry Christmas.
  • As long as it's above freezing it's never too cold to camp! I just got done doing a 5 day 4 night road trip through VA and NC. Visited Mount Airy and did the Andy Griffith thing. Great weather this week! The campgrounds are empty and the rates are low ($17-28).
  • mockturtle has me jealous; have not been over there in years. We left home 3 days ago and came from Tucson area to Indio, CA for a month. It will be an away from home and everyone we know for the first time. Children are a long ways away - Minnesota and daughter in London. And we are NOT going back to MN in the winter! For many years, when we lived in CO, we always had "homeless" in for dinner on Thanksgiving and Christmas - "homeless" was other couples like us who otherwise would be alone. Last few years we have had friends in and all.

But we love this RV life so bailed out this year. The RV park has a huge Christmas Eve potluck dinner where they supply turkey, ham and major items. We don't know a soul here but have met a few people. We will go to this; though it is out of the norm for us.

All of us are truly blessed - some more than others of course - to have this great lifestyle and, for some of us, the freedom to just go and do as we darn well please. We can all be thankful for that!

    So, Merry Christmas everyone !
  • Niether one. We have gotten to the age where we don't need any more useless trinkets to clean so Christmas is get what we need. Few surprises. BAH HUMBUG!

Got a needed grass trimmer. DW got a needed dishwasher replaced. Come spring the trailer will get needed new rubber & we will take an extra tour or two on our trip. Merry belated Christmas to us.
  • Snowboarding and Skiing! Not one of the choices given but that's how we spend our winters! If we get a break in the weather, we do occasionally head to Moab, but that's usually not until Feb. or March at the earliest.
