- CharlesinGAExplorerSince wski mentioned it I'll add it...........
Blue Angel Park (accessed off of US 98) https://www.navymwrpensacola.com/programs/2da143f4-d619-4a9a-8b29-90f41c132eeb
I'll also add the Gulf Shores/Pensacola West KOA across the 98 bridge in Alabama. Fairly easy 11 mile drive about a mile and a half off of the Alabama end of the Perdido Bay US 98 bridge on county road 99.

thanks for the many replies, it is my grand daughter not daughter. yes she is active and i am navy vet but not retired, only vet.
She can sign you in. Availability might be the issue though. They stay busy. If it is just for 1 night it might not be worth the hassle.
I would check with the campground you might use. Having your granddaughter "sign you in" may be an issue. She may be required to stay with you. Or you can have her reserve the space and she'll be responsible for any issues. I am not sure about the requirements/restrictions. Ask permission or ask forgiveness...your choice. - BelgiqueExplorer

- bgumExplorerOn base check out the Naval Security Group’s museums. You may need a reservation as it
Is staffed by volunteers. - CharlesinGAExplorerBig Lagoon SP is no more than 10 minutes from the west gate on FL 173/S Blue Angels Pkwy. Sites have power and water, dump station, nice showers and restrooms. This is the closest outside of the one on base. $20 per night plus taxes and fees.

Ft. Pickens is a 35 to 45 minute drive across two bridges and thru downtown traffic to the east gate at the Duncan Rd bridge.

This is an expensive alternative, as you pay a $20 entrance fee (good for 7 days) plus $40 per night camping fee. Water, power, dump station and nice showers and restrooms.

On base is Oak Grove RV Park, near the museum and lighthouse.

$69 to $98 a day.
Charles - wskiExplorerHighly recommend the base campground for your stay if you can obtain a spot. Also look at the Blue Angel campgrounds on HWY 98. This is another military campground that requires Military/DOD sponsorship. Both of these are well maintained campgrounds. :)
- Bird_FreakExplorer IIFort Pickens camp ground is a close drive also.
- jamesroadkingExplorerThe one on base is real nice and there's a free Naval Air museum right down the road that is outstanding with WW1 and WW2 planes. If your not military and your daughter is a dependant she can get you a campsite.
- charmingExplorerWe stayed two nights at Big Lagoon State Park. It is good for a short stay, they don't have full service. We visited the Naval Aviation museum, it is a straight shot from the park.
