Croton Point Park; One hour north of New York City
We stayed at Croton Point Park (Westchester County Parks) for a week in early May 2017.
It is a county park with beaches, trails and RV campsites on the Hudson River about an hour north of New York City (by commuter train).
The commuter train is 1.5 miles from the campground.
The RV sites have full hookups and there are restrooms nearby.
Atleast half of the RV sites seem to be occupied by full timers, possibly working on the new Tarrytown Bridge.
My opinion is that full timers detract from the ambience of the park.
Our site was spacious and included a picnic table. We were across from a playground and a larage building which must be used for events and gatherings.
The park was pretty quiet at night.
The grass is well maintained but the inner roads at RV sites lack maintenance.
I would rate this park a 5 star for location but a 3 star for maintenance.
If I recall our weekly rate was about $250. for a non-resident.
West Point is on the other side of the Hudson River and about a half hour away (at non commute time).
Grace Lane kennels is about 8 miles away ( oldest kennel in US) and is a 5 star kennel.
If we ever get out that way again we will be sure to stay at Croton Point Park.
