Custer SP/Stockade Lake South
We will be at this campground the first part of July, and my question is....is this area considered bear country where food can't be kept inside a tent trailer and ALL coolers have to be locked inside the vehicle?
Might sound like an odd question to some, but we were in Colorado a couple of summers ago and both campgrounds we stayed at were in bear country. The 1st campground was super diligent about the policy being followed and EVERYTHING had to be put up at night, while the 2nd was a bit more lenient and said that the bear-proof ice chest could stay outside and unopened food could be kept inside the trailer.
I understand their reasoning behind the rules, and I have no problem following them, but I need to know if the same/similar rules apply to Custer SP. It will give us time to plan our food situation better knowing the information now, as opposed to being caught off guard when we get there.
There is nothing listed on the campground website, and the ph #'s are only answered M-F. If I don't ask now, I might forget.
Thanks
