DirecTV service guy said they no long will service RV's, that you are on your own. He fixed my problem and canceled the service call. Chris

Yes they have. They setup my travel trailer with four locations to put receivers. The first tech that came didn't know how to handle it, so his supervisor came out the next day and did it himself.

I am not saying the won't come out and stake a dish in your site, or run a cable into the side of your trailer, or hook up a couple DVR's inside you RV. I am pretty sure they will not come out and run cable down inside your walls, install splitters, and do a initial install like they would on a residence.

We see Direct-TV in the RV parks here in south-TX all the time. However, they maybe a local subcontractor service. They setup/install systems, help setup equipment the folks carried here in the rig.

Anyone needing a great RV Satellite technician who works on DirecTV among other providers, and you're in the Houston TX area, call Dave at Sats2Go. He is the satellite "guru"
We've had our RV for 9 years and never had DirecTV make an installation or service call. We handle most things over the phone or online. For those things we can't handle, we stop by Houston.

Well they upgraded us to HD a few years ago in an Arizona RV park and told me just leave the antenna when I went home. Well I have been packing that dish around for a number of years. I did leave the big square ground frame/stand. I can normally align the SWM dish easier than the old SD dish.

I am running Whole Home DVR on my own switch/routers.

I've had DirecTV in my rig for 9 years, first using a KVM in-motion dome and lately with the Winegard Trav'ler automated dish. Have never had a DirecTV service person at the rig. I have seen them driving around RV parks, but never knew what they were doing.

DirecTV has never worked on RVs. I went around and around with them when the SWM tech came out.

DTV: Yes, we have that technology what is your home address.
Me: Well, we live in our motorhome, currently in Arizona.
DTV: We don't make service calls on RVs.
Me: Ok, I'll install it myself. Where can I pick up the equipment.
DTV: Sorry, only our technicians can install this service.
Me: Oh, ok when can he be here.
DTV: Sorry we don't install on RVs.
Me: OK, so how can we get this installed.
DTV: If you have a neighbor, we can install it on their house then you can remove it.
Me: Never mind.

It was even worse when I was looking for a remote dish for the coach. I called the main office and the gal that answered the phone told me to look for a vacant house for sale and take the one off their roof!!:S:S

If you have a Travler Direct TV dish installed on your roof, then they never would service your system that I knew of. Whoever installed your system would be responsible for maintaining it. I have never heard of a Direct TV tech doing an install on an RV.

They may come out and check your DRV boxes or something like that, but I am pretty sure they will not service your RV system like they would your sticknbrick.
