Dodge City RV Parks

We also stayed at Gunsmoke and found it to be fine. I love old west motifs so enjoyed Boot Hill, the little town, the saloon show, and the gun fight. I've seen better saloon shows and fights, but enjoyed them just the same. After that, I don't recall much else to do.

Thanks for your tips. Sounds like we don't need for than a 1/2 day in Dodge City. We will plan accordingly. I also have learned that their big annual celebration is going to be going on when we had planned to be there. We may just by pass it and miss the crowds.

Another vote for Gunsmoke RV Park

WE have stayed at the Gunsmoke RV park several years ago and found it to be very nice.
Like said, there it not that much to see in Dodge.

It is interesting to see the "states visited" maps from three of US who have stayed at Gunsmoke. At least suggestions from any of these three is probably based on experience! :C

We've used Gunsmoke RV Park on multiple occasions - it was up for sale at our last visit (2009) so I can't speak to how it is at present. It will be hot there. 100 degrees during the day is not uncommon. Also, the wind blowing across the prairie is fairly strong so we never put our awning out on any of our visits.

Unfortunately, you won't need more than a day in Dodge. Too built up and commercialised now, IMHO.

We stayed at the Gunsmoke RV Park for an overnight and had a good experience. Would not hesitate to go there again. We did not have time to see the sights in the area.
