Kid Friendly Northeast CG's For Summer 2014?

My wife and I have found many family friendly campgrounds over the last four years. We are from NJ and we have done extensive RV travel in the Northeast. Please check our blog below for campground recommendations and suggested family activities etc. in New York, Maine, Vermont, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Not in the Northeast, but we have also spent a lot of time in North Carolina and Virginia.

When we do family camping, us and my three daughters family(8 grandkids). We go to ODETAH Campgrounds. We get three sites FHU's. It can be a little noisy if you get near the road. Youngest grandchild is 3. The rest are older and enjoy swimming in the pond, along with other activities. I know there are better place but the drive is short for all of us.

I think we've decided on Lake George RV Park for July 2014. Any other suggestions on what are good sites #'s for our family?

Parents mid 60's
Brother and sister in law 40
Boys 6 and 4

Xwhatever for Lake George RV Park. We are 40 minutes from Strawberry Park, went once, never again. LGRVP is every bit as good as folks say it is. Nice family run operation, even though it is a large park.

LOve, Love, love Lake George RV Park. Been there many times but I just returned from Moose Hillock in Warren, New Hampshire last week and they are opening a brand new campground in Lake George next year. If it is anything like the New Hampshire campground it will be very nice. My son loved the heated pool and the sites were very spacious. They are building the same type of pool/lagoon with a scull as the theme from what I heard.

Next year is suppose to be the opening of Moose Hillock in the Lake George area might want to check that out.

Also might want to check out the NH Moose Hillock....probably one of the best resort campgrounds in NE

If you book early you will probably have no problems getting 2 sites next to each other. We have done it before on past visit. I would look at the campground map on line and choose 2 sites near the indoor pool and the French Mountain Theater. After the shows the trolly can fill up fast and it is a long walk to the far end of the resort if you have sites over there. Just be aware the sites right next to the theater are paved asphalt and it is pretty much just a parking lot. I think this is their overflow area.

I believe Lake George RV Park starts accepting 2014 reservations on October 1. I would need two sites. How difficult do you think it is to get prime side by side sites in July or August if we book as soon as they start accepting reservations?

What would be good sites to ask for? Again, 2 boys aged 6 and 4 are going. My brother and his wife about 40 and my parents are mid 60's.

That's what I like about RV. net. Real reviews from real campers! We found our most recent favorite, "First Landing State Park" in Va. Beach the same way...by reading a thread about it here on Rv.net. :)
