Lot of birds flew out of our park today.

Migration started in earnest today. Chris
  • I love April when every leaves, the park is quiet, there are no lines at our favorite breakfast places, less congestion at stores, the weather is warm during the day, but still cool at night - - best of the desert for us. By the end of April we are happy to get on the road to the coast, but we wait for the thundering herd to get on the road and gone and take our time moving north.
  • I drove south on I81 the length of Pa and saw lots of RVs headed north, on way home I passed many and almost all were from Canada. I knew they were headed home but I still wished I was on the road with my FW.
  • This is when many leave, just in time to make it home for Easter and to file income taxes.
  • My folks used to wait till May 1 to leave Fla. I always wondered about that because when they came home they were already behind the eight ball in yard work. My brother and I would mow for them, but the rest was stuff that they did.
  • Yesterday, we drove south on I-95 from near the SC-NC border to I-26, then on to Charleston SC. On that stretch of I-95, I saw dozens of rigs heading north. All kinds, shapes, and styles. I remarked to my wife that the Snowbirds were out in full force!

  • I was at a State Park in Deleware on Friday night; It is usually empty (probably < 5 occupied spots); I arrived at 9PM and did not bother booking ahead - the park was packed with a hand full of spots available;

    Most of the licence plates were VT, NH, MA, NY - obviously snow birds on their
    way back home.

    I'm going back in 2 weeks - I bet it will be empty again.
  • Thought it was 'Earnest AZ'.......:B

    Funny
    Hummingbirds just started showing up
