We have only about 15 days vacation this year. Considering, Lower Missouri. We have been to Branson several times. And then circling around AR back to Altus, OK. We have been to Cotter AR several time...

Lake Ouachita, in AR, very deep, clean lake near Hot Springs.
Lake Dardanelle SP in AR is nice. We used it as base for visiting Petit Jean SP, Mt Nemo SP and Mt. Magazine SP-beautiful lodge but the campground does not have a view.
You may be late for making reservations for Labor Day.
You will have a great time in So Mo or AR beautiful area!

X2 on Echo Bluff. I spent a couple weeks there last Fall. The roaming horses are neat. Also a lodge and restaurant. More like an Aspen resort than a state park. No cellular service.
