I wonder if you are allowed to boondock @ Scussett in the meantime? The CG does not lock up at all.

Just from my experience dealing with things that are supposed to happen in Massachusetts in general and Cape Cod in particular, I'd be making other plans. Bourne Scenic Park, Bay View Campgrounds, Cape Cod Camp Resort are all close to Scusset.

The Scusset page on Reserve America still says:

" We are not currently accepting reservations for this campground and apologize for the inconvenience. Please check back mid-February for an update."

Even the page that you quoted says, "Once the construction schedule is in place, camping reservations will resume."

I "believe" Scussett IS taking reservations, beginning with Memorial Day weekend. They expect to have the new electrical system installed by then.

From the Scussett Web Site:
Due to the failure of the campground electrical system at Scusset Beach State Reservation, opening of the campground for the 2015 season will be delayed. At this time, we do not have a definite timeframe, but are confident we will offer camping during the main summer season. Once the construction schedule is in place, camping reservations will resume. We apologize for any inconvenience and encourage you to make camping reservations at one of our other beautiful campgrounds.

IIRC, there were some folks in a large 5-er across from us. Do recall several large Class A's, also, so I'm thinking some sites would work. I imagine Wompatuck gets busy on summer weekends... ST

I am in a 35' fifth wheel; will we and our truck fit? I see their largest spots are 40' is there some slop for the truck to fit?

Wompatuck State Park in Hingham, Ma x3 - 15A electric for $17/night, IIRC. GREAT base to stay. Been there twice - would certainly return. ST

This is where we stayed and really liked it. We took the ferry to Boston from Hingham, which was really cool. But - Wompatuck doesn't have FHU - electric is all you can get.

They do have a dump station though. And very private sites.
