Planning a trip to Miami week after Christmas and would like a recommendations on a good beachfront park. Never been to Miami.

Beachfront in the Miami area? Good luck..I think the nearest 'beachfront' RV park in all of south Florida is many hours north or west of there.

We'll, in that case, there's a bunch of options. Since you're coming down from VA, there's several beachfront, and very close to beachfront spots in the Jacksonville FL area. Further south there's a bunch in the Flagler Beach to Titusville area. I would suggest you have a read through a bunch of the reviews and reports.

Try one of the Broward County parks. Markham, CB Smith or (don't remember the name of the other one) They are not close to the beach, maybe 1/2 hour, but they are nice. Markham is west of Ft Lauderdale and right on the edge of the everglades. They book up early for the winter months, but you might get a week. If you can't find something there, you may want check Yacht Harbor near the airport. If you get desperate, you can come up to our park near Sebring. They most always have sites available, although you would be about 1 1/2 to 2 hours from the beach. Remember, the last week of December, even in South Florida can be cool, especially at night. Markham Park is also 5 mins away from the largest Mall in the Southeast as well as a very nice arena.

We've stayed in Miami Everglades Park, Markham Park, and John Prince Park, all nice parks IMO. We visit Miami when we stay at Markham Park (about 40 min. away), they also have an awesome dog park there. The only downside at Markham is that it has a firing range on site, not a big deal for us though. Have a great time and safe travels.

You do not need to go all the way to Miami for WARM WX. X3 on John Prince and the only restaurant I'll stand in line for... John G's (Lantana RD & A1A) is close by. Doubt you will be able to get in so I'd recommend VI Resort

We have stayed at John Prince park. It is a county park near Palm Beach. It is right on a lake, not far from the beach, maybe 30 minutes. There is a small airport next door, but they never bothered us. They pretty much stop using it at dark. Have a good time. Should be in the 80s all week.

Ok, the other Broward County park with camping is Easterlin, in Oakland Park. One time when I could not find anything else, I stayed at Kozy Campers on Commercial Blvd in Ft Lauderdale. I had a 37' 5'er then and could not open my awning do to an interfering tree.

We were in Miami last January visitng my cousin and she said almost all the beaches in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale are now private, owned by hotels and condos. She did take us to the Hollywood, FL beach, one of the few public ones.
