Need advice on last minute trip to Night race at Bristol

Headed From Birmingham to Bristol nascar race for the first time. I'm looking for best place to camp, prefer close to track, can do dry camping but would prefer full hookups if possible. Not a party crowd if that even exists. I'm hoping to take advantage of low attendance so need tickets as well.. Coming in Saturday, leaving Monday. Suggestions for best seating. Places to avoid. Any tips and tricks from those of you who are avid nascar and Bristol fans.

Yes, I usually plan trips well in advance but want to see Jeff driving the 88 so trying to make this quick last minute trip happen as painless as possible.

F150 with 20 ft trailer so don't need much room. Thanks for any help I can get.
  • Try looking at rvparkreviews.com for cities around the area and the campgrounds that are available in those areas. I would contact them to see if they are full or have openings.
  • Try Lakeview RV Park which is about 2 or 3 miles from the track. They run buses up to the track so you don't have to worry about driving. Full hook ups, pool, but the lake is down as they are working on the dam. Campground stays mostly calm, not a big party place. There are 2 bar-b-que places nearby, Ridgewood or Pardners that are very good.

Shadrack Campgroundis full hookup and is located very close to track, about a 1/2 or so walk. There are others in the area if you want to drive in.

Tickets will be plentiful around the track, track still has tickets left so you could check with them to see the seats available.
  • Best camping is right on speedway grounds if there are any sites still available. All American, Earhart, and Red Barn are all walking distance to the track.

Have fun, if you can get there earlier the whole week is a real experience.
  • Purchase or rent headsets. The noise will damage your ears. My favorite track. Just got asked last night if I wanted to go. But have other plans.

  • Anybody familiar with Bristol who can tell me if there are poles obstructing views in the Pearson Terrace? can't really tell from the online maps.
  • Call lakeview RV park and try to get in there if possible.
  • You need to stay in the in the first 6 to 8 rows in the Pearson Terrace and you should be ok with no poles. Any higher and you may have a partial blocked view. You can look at infield pictures on their website that will let you do a 360 view and zoom in on the seats you are talking about.

I have been a season ticket holder for about 15 years and always stayed at All American. Not the cheapest, with only water and electric, but the spots are large and it is just outside turn 3. Always worked well for us.

Good luck and enjoy the race. One of the best on the schedule.
