Probably Riley Creek. It is very popular, but if you are lucky to get a site, it is a great park. We go every year.
  • If in the panhandle and driving I-90 I also recommend Blackwell Island in Coeur D'Alene.

  • Yes, a lot of fires. We originally had planned ourselves to take 95 from Boise, to Hwy 12 across to Lolo, then up to Glacier. That may change based on what the status of the fires are in mid September.
  • As mentioned previously, fire is everywhere up here---BUT, the camping is still available. Search the web on the area you wish to visit, call the FS about campgrounds or contact the cities nearby (like Sandpoint, Coeur d Alene, Bonners Ferry, Wallace, etc.
We're very smoky here right now, but the temps have cooled off somewhat and life is going on. Fire info changes by the minute.
    Come on up!
  • Lots and lots of fire activity going on in North Idaho and north central Idaho right now. You will do well to check on the area you plan to be before you get there. Fires are right in town at Kamiah and Orofino and getting close to Nez Perce. More fires in the Panhandle with some near Potlatch, Harvard and St Maries.

We have stayed at Heyburn State Park near Plummer and at an RV park right across the highway from Silverwood (the name escapes me right now). There is also a big RV park in Moyie Springs right on the river.
  • You didn't specify what areas of northern Idaho, so check out these links for information

BLM CG with Hookups - you can find the other BLM campgrounds here too, but most don't have hookups.

If you are a Good Sam member, they have a great campground directory of areas along with ratings. In general you can Google the area for campgrounds and even use either Google Maps with the satellite settings, then zoom in and you can usually find RV parks in each town, then Google the name for reviews and information.

We've stayed at Priest Lake, but they only have water and electricity hookups. Winchester State Park also has the same hookups, but also a dump station.

    Hope this helps.
