If you are willing to travel a bit, one of our favorite places is Greenbrier River Campground - and they do shuttle you up the river
http://greenbrierriver.com/campground/ - RGar974417ExplorerIt is a fairly new campground and pretty wide open. There are no really secluded spots.I beilieve campsite photos.com has pictures of every site.
- mdprowashExplorerThanks everyone. I'm leaning toward Shenandoah River State Park. Can anyone recommend a particular site? Are any of them more secluded than others? From what videos I saw and pictures I could find... The sites do not look very woodsy
- TeamfourExplorerPoint Lookout and Shenandoah River campgrounds are great! Brunswick tends to have a few transients living in the park in tents. We weren't impressed.
- grumpy1Explorerlook at Buttonwood in Mexico Pa
- RGar974417ExplorerI would agree with Jane's Island. They have a beach that is only accessible by boat. They have a canoe launch and canoe trails.
- neschultzExplorerLook at Shad Landing State Park on the Pocomoke River. We are currently camp hosting there on the Acorn trail...stop by and say Hi if you get down here.
- mdprowashExplorerThanks for more replies.. I just stayed at Tuckahoe State park this past weekend. It was very nice. I imagine Martinak is very similar. I would like to head toward the mountains this next trip.. Which will be the first week of October.
I did a ten mile (rental) canoe trip years ago down the Delaware river. Did not camp though.. Would like something similar to that for canoeing. - sunlinesunshineExplorerYou could try Martinak State Park on RT 404 in Denton, MD. (About 75 miles from Baltimore) They have an electric loop as well as a non-electric loop. Boat ramp on Watts Creek that flows out to the Choptank River. Great place, we camp and kayak there several times every year.
Happy Camping!
