I just wanted to comment on this place and the folks that own it and the folks that work there.
First, the park is very nice, we'll kept and very comfortable. It has a great view, is close to Henry Lake and 20 minutes ( Depending on construction) from West Yellowstone, Mt and the west gate of Yellowstone.
When you arrive at Red Rock you will meet a great group of people. They do have a few rules and they go over them with you. To me this is great because you know where they stand from the very start, even where your pets can poo and where the pet Area is located. The pet area is marked with solar powered lights for the folks and pets at night..
Now they do not do "Late arrivals" which is cool with me, no yelling, banging and clanging at 2:00 AM.
After the paper work is finished, someone will meet you at your RV, on a Quad, and escort you to your site. Everybody is nice and respectful to all.
The owners have owned the place for 25 years and obviously know how to find great people to Work-Camp for them. I know one couple said this was their second year work-camping at the Red Rock. If you ask they will give you directions to the lake and fishing locations and how to rig your line.
The showers are very well kept and clean along with the laundry room.
Now this is a location that people bring their OHV's to and use Red Rock as a base camp. I have no issues with that and for the most part everyone is very respectful with them. I do think they need to Remind people to Restrict the idol / worm-up time. The guy across from us was told by his wife to point the muffler away from their trailer, so he did. Well, every morning about 6:00 AM he would start his RZR ??? And let it "Worm up" while he ate breakfast. About 30 minutes of thump, thump, thump, thump, thump....from the exhaust pipe. But oh-well I survived..
Now for the down side... Thinking....thinking....thinking..... I will have to come back to this one... Oh the mosquitoes were bad so bring some spray....
The space between the sites are a little close on the back side where the sewer, water and power hook ups are, but they have it set up so you are back to back. You are not looking at someone's sewer line and water hose. You have a large front yard and look at the front of your neighbors rig. This is great, especially if you are with friends. You will have a large grass yard ( 20 to 30 feet) between you and them.
The water is " well water" and has a good taste, 50. Amp power and sewer.
This is a great place but please do not go there because I do not want to have to fight for a spot next year.. Seriously go stay at the Red Rock you will love it. We were there for 10 days.
P.S. We also saw a Grizzly on the east side of Henry's lake. We had a detour around the lake one night about 11.30 PM due to a Moose -Vs- auto on Hwy 20 at Red Rock Road and they had to land a Medi-Vac Chopper to air lift one of the victims. Our neighbors across the yard from us almost hit this monster Grizzly with their Mini Cooper. We were behind them and I think the grizzly would have won that fight.....
Anyway go see them and have a great time!
PSS.
It was pointed out I forgot something. The location is a five mile drive off the main highway so there is NO road noise, unless a Moose and car meet up as I'd did with our trip. The police sent all the cars, RV's and trucks down this road. It was, from what I was told, the first time they had ever seen that happen. When you drive in go SLOW. There are cows grazing the roadside and they will walk in front of you.
Hope that covers it.
Anyways, go to the place and relax
