- profdant139Explorer III am pretty sure that Azalea can work for a 30 footer -- talk to the rangers at the Kings Canyon Visitor Center -- 559-565-4307. Azalea is nice and cool -- 6500 feet -- right near Grant Grove (walking distance). TenOC, do you have a toad? That would work better for day trips to the Lodgepole and Cedar Grove areas.
The snow should be melted by May -- but if not, they do plow that campground. - ppineExplorer IIMost of the campgrounds in the Park are really old original ones not set up for large RVs. It may be best to camp outside the Park and commute.
- F-TROUPExplorerSearch the camp grounds in the parks Azalea, Sunset, Crystal Springs, Dorst and Lodge Pole there are some sites you will fit in. Go up Hwy 180 to Kings Canyon, don't take Hwy 198.
- the_bear_IIExplorerOur favorite spot is outside the park near Three Rivers in Kaweah, CA. It's the Sequoia RV Ranch. A rustic campground with hookups and other amenities parallel to the Kaweah River. It's close enough to drive into the park daily plus there is lots to see in the area and good fishing. Several spots are drive-thru right on the river bank.
