Tanglewood RV Park Clemmons NC

Does anyone have any photos of the campsites at this campground? I found some on this forum by doing a search that was posted by wbwood but am interested to see if anyone else has photo's that have not been published here. That park is our next destination and after having done extensive research I hope that the site I have reserved will not require too much effort to get level. It is Site 18.
Just wondering if anyone could help. Thanks!
  • Actually when you make reservations online (assuming) you did that since you mentioned directions on their website, it gives a map on there where it shows where campground view is. About 20 yards before Campground Rd, there is a green sign. It points to the left and to the right. To the left it says: Welcome Center, Events & Marketing, Mountain Bike Trails, and RV Campground, RV campground Check-in. They also give you instructions when you make reservations (in the email) to check in at the welcome center before I think it's about 5pm. If afterward, stop by one of the campground hosts (which you have to pass if you are following the one way signs) to check in. Seems pretty well marked with exception, there is no street sign that says Campground Rd. There is a North Trail one on the right side of the road. But the other signs pointing to the campground should of been plenty.
  • According to their website, the directions say to turn onto Campground Rd after entering the park. But the name on the street corner sign is not Campground Rd.
We actually continued down the street to the Welcome Station and the lady instructed us what to do. We had to drive further down the street to a Picnic Shelter area and turn around in the parking lot. This was the first mistake. Not easy to do when towing a car.
The second mistake we made was to blow past the Registration Office/building. There is a sign at the entrance to the parking lot but there are 4 different instructions as to what is down this road and the RV Registration is at the very bottom in very small letters. It was only when we were almost past that sign that I realized what was on it. But we cannot back up with car attached and did not want to stop on the road.
I suppose if you have been here before it would not confusing but to us it was. It all wound up for the best as we traveled down that road to the big parking lot at the end to unhook the car. I drove the car back to that building and registered.

We are here and set up. While this is not one of the most level sites in the park, we will make do while here. I did not have much choice to make when I made these reservations.
If you are in a travel trailer or fifth wheel, you shouldn't have any issues but in a 40 foot motorhome with the slope of the pad it is hard to get it level without the front wheels coming off of the ground. Which they did but I made DH put the front end down until they are touching the asphalt pad. We will be ok. Verizon cell signal is not very strong and we will have to forget about Direct TV but at least they have cable. They do have wifi but have not tried it yet.
But it looks to be a very nice park. The signage coming in is terrible for someone who has never been here before. We will have an opportunity to do our walking exercise while here at least.

We have ATT and have no trouble with reception there. If you are at the front of the park, wifi may be hit and miss, especially if inside. But we have a BearExtender wifi extender that works well. What signage are you talking about? We though there was adequate signage. The nice part is the strip mall across the street from the park. There's several restaurants, shops and the Harris Teeter grocery store. The walking/bike trail is very nice as well.
  • We like Tanglewood as it's only about 35 minutes away from us, has full hook uos, and the price...do wish it was way more level. If you are going a first, God help you get lucky and get one of the sites that is mostly level. After you go there, you can kind of figure out which are the "better" sites.

Here's a link to a photobucket album of Tanglewood.
  • we stayed in site 1 and it was level. It looked like most sites in the first 2 streets close to the entrance were pretty level. We could even get satellite in site 1.

MANY sites are VERY un-level, worst I've ever seen. After our first stay, we made site changes for later visits. If I were at home with the computer, I'd send photos and info, but unfortunately don't have access. It's a nice park.

    Two suggestions:

Google the campground name and RV Park Reviews. A person posted site number info in May 2014, and said 10 to 23, and 38 to 43 were level. So you may be fine.

Or try calling the CG directly and say you want to be sure it's a level site. The person who answers the phone may be helpful.

I thought they just reopened after a major remodel and update of the whole campground?

The remodeling/updating was done a few years ago. Whats being discussed is the new and improved version. It's really a shame they didn't make more of the sites level.

This is site map from google search... Might give you an idea what to expect... You might want to ZOOM DOWN from google earth map and get a satellite view of it now that you know where site 18 is...

Looks like most of the sites might be very level...
