Back in 2008 was the first time we stopped here on our flight south. Was told about it from other snowbirds, and it was true, it was a gathering point for Midwest RV snowbirds heading over to the south east. Prior to Tunica you were out there on your own, after it you were part of a flock.
Seven years later and Tunica seems to be just a shadow of what it once was. No longer a destination point, and has a feel of pending bankruptcy. I know they had a flood back in 2011, but things are once again open.
So is it just the time of year? Is there a better place to stay then Tunica Casino strip for RV snowbirds? Maybe after the flood people stayed away and don't know Tunica is open for business? Or, is RV'ing hay day dwindling down.
Thereโs no fool, like an old fool.
