- russkerriExplorerWe stayed at the St. Louis West KOA, which is just outside the city with easy access to the interstate to get into town. Even though it's close to the city, it has a lot of trees. If you have kids, they have a lot of amenities and activities.
Here's a review with some pictures: St. Louis West KOA
The most unique thing to do in St Louis, especially with kids, is the City Museum, which is not really a museum. It's like a crazy indoor playground with slides, tunnels, and more. See my review here.
We also love the Arch, of course. The zoo is phenomenal and free, as is the science center. You can eat some of the best Italian food in an area known as The Hill. - jnharleyExplorerI think the $50 prices for the larger sites at Casino Queen is just about right. Factor in driving into St Louis from one of the outlying campgrounds and then pay for parking and it is a wash. It is an urban campground but one steps outside their RV and has a magnificent view of the Arch which is really pretty at night. We could see our RV from the top of the Arch.

X2 on the casino queen. I think it's $20 a night.

I think it's $20 a night and right by the train that goes into downtown and all over. Good security, and not bad food in the casino. We don't gamble but a decent place to stay. They aren't open in the winter as i remember.
Travel Safe. - seleExplorerYOU might look at cuivre river state park which is about an hours drive north of ST louis Some nice antique shopping in the area and St Charles shopping is on the way to St Louis. The park has a nice beach and swimming area. Plus full hookups but fills up fast.
- 2gypsies1Explorer IIII'd also recommend Edmund Babler State Park. It's huge and has trees for shade and used to have a swimming pool - not sure if it still does. It has manicured lawns and huge sites. Make a reservation now - it's very popular.
St. Louis is VERY hot in summer so don't stay on a parking lot-type of RV park. - OakmanExplorerOne man’s “must see” is another man’s meh! Here’s a list of things you might want to consider.

I’m sure I’ve forgotten a lot of things but this list will get you started. - eb145Explorer IIBabler Memorial State Park has a nice campground that is well maintained by nice camp hosts.
Cardinals game at Busch Stadium is a nice family event. - Matt_ColieExplorer IIHappyhour,
While in the area, be sure not to miss Cahokia Mounds. It may change everything you thought you knew about First Peoples.
Matt - DrewEExplorer IIOne attraction that is a must with the teens: the St Louis City Museum. It's hard to describe, but suffice to say it's more a giant playground and art project than a museum in the traditional sense (though there are a few exhibits).
