Entrance catch-all

Tired of loose flashlights and misc pocket stuff dropped in entryway "just for now..."
and REALLY disliked seeing expensive chipped truck keys and fob dumped on the floor we came up with this:



Started with a $2 thrift store magazine rack



Took the screws out and disassembled and split into two pieces with circle saw



Easy enough you could just use a hand saw, or if snowbirding most maintenance shops/men will either saw it for you or loan you a circle saw.
Cup hooks in bottom for keys/flashlights
Also handy for the pile of maps and brochures that accumulate on the table

    Nice looking project, but the cutting jig is also great.


    Same thing could be done with a couple of "vice grips" and a piece of scrap plywood :)

    We also have some hooks for keys, dog lead, etc. What I'm really pulling my hair over is an out-of-the-way place for coat hooks. The hooks don't take up much room till you put coats on them! Duh! Nice work by the way!

    Awesome idea. I like creating useful items out of something not being used...especially when you can pick it up for $2. Well done!
