I need to replace my entertainment center

I need to replace my entertainment center which no longer works. It is a Genesis GT 2. I was wondering what brand entertainment systems are the most reliable: Jensen, Magnadyne, Pyle, or some other brand?

I am also considering a Double Din car stereo but cannot find a way to power 8 speakers or add some kind of speaker selection switch. Have any of you done something like this?

Any advice or tips are welcome.

I just installed a Joying android head unit in my truck, and Im seriously thinking of putting one in my Truck camper. These android head units have lots of features that could work well in a camper.

There are single dins, double dins and just about every other configuration

So when adding an amp to a car stereo, the speakers connected to the amp and the speakers connected directly to the stereo all work at the same time? I didn't know that.

yes the speaker connections on the head unit and auxiliary outputs for external amps will work at the same time.
you can install a switch to the added amplifiers turn on wire that then connects to the power antenna wire-(amp turn on lead)on the head unit to turn off the speakers you have connected to them but still be able to run the speakers connected to the head unit normally and every thing will turn off when you turn off the head unit.

Only reason to ever have the Jensen IRV2 stuff is to be able to switch between speakers. If you don't need that feature then a sound bar + Bray player is the best IMO. Most of the RV stuff is really limited for out/inputs and picture quality. You don't get good sound and speakers in the ceiling are the worst place for them.
We added a 40" Samsung TV and a nice Samsung sound bar with remote sub. Much nicer sound overall. I can also play Pandora over the sound bar as well. If I want sound in the bedroom or outside I use my Flip.
Only downside to a soundbar is they're 120V so you need an inverter or elec.

I have to admit I don't know much about the specifics of the equipment needed but in my opinion one of the best places to get an education and often the best price around is right down the street from you, Best Buy. I have bought a lot of stuff from them and while certain brands they sell have been failures I've never had a problem with their Insignia brand.

I am nearing legally deft and so surround sound isn't a big thing for me and I disconnected the surround sound speaker system in the Winnie and I did find a great little amp buried under the dash, can't remember the make and model off hand. The receiver/amp was already missing and the little hang down speakers looked like doo doo all over the place.

The nicest double din we have had, was the Ford factory unit with the built in six CD changer. The DW's Explorer was a 2002 and I did have to remove the unit one time and re-stack the trays for the CDs. Took longer to watch the YouTube video than to do the work.

Now she has a new Explorer with MP3 port, USB thumb drive port and a single CD player. Wish I had kept that old player for the towed.

Best Buy carries a wide variety of car stereos and the sales people are really helpful. In Burbank and Pasadena at least.

the car stereo head units have connections for 4 speakers on the unit and have rca plug outputs for additional amplifiers on them you could add some small amplifiers for your other speakers and add switches to turn off those added amps off when not needed.
it seams hard to find small amplifiers now though.
possibly some like these? small amplifiers it says 200 watt but really is 2 x 38W RMS

I guess I could also get a three channel amp and connect the six inside speakers to that and then get 2 channel amp for the outside speakers and put that on a switch?

X2 on Crutchfield. Donโ€™t waste money on any IRV unit. Have heard decent things on Jensen.

Dual has a variety of models and most have at least 2 zones. If you have more zones than that you will likely need to add a selector switch available from an electronics store.
