OK, spring project. Recoating EPDM roof with liquid roof, in particular, the one offered by EPDM Coatings. I've seen great reviews on this, but also some bad ones that never really mentioned the exact product used. I know, Lowes and HD has coating. I'd rather use something that is specifically made for RV's. Does anyone have experience with this?

I was looking into the Henry Tropi-Cool from Home Depot. I have a 2002 Georgie Boy Landau and heard it was decent stuff to use. Just rinse off the roof and make sure there isn't dirt, leaves, and such on there, then roll paint on the product.

Yes, ok, did our 2003. Clean off roof and old caulking. Removed dicor on the outside edge.Then used eternabond, 4" x 50' rolls around the edge. I used a roller brush, long handle. Front to back. Pouring from a red solo cup. Came back next day repeat coating.Came back next day repeat coatingCame back next day repeat coating.In all 4 coating from the 4.7 gal bucket.And by the way sunglasses were needed, and I did it in my stocking / socks.

That looks like the stuff that I used on our previous camper. I also used eternabond on the edges and roof penetrations. I was very happy with the results.

I just chalked mine and cleaned. Put tape on an old rotted spot on roof as reinforcement. There was a leak one time and 4x4 corner of roof rotted below the redpm...I only did front and back quarters, and edges. And all vents, skylights, antenna. etc etc... All with one gallon..This coating does attract a black type of dirt.I sold the trailer but it washed right off. This was after winter storage. Where the factory edpm did not have this black dirt...Mold? IDK...But I gotta say they stuff worked great... You can get a 10 year warranty if you put it on a certain mil think I believe...I was just happy I didn't have to caulk anymore...

Liquid Roof is one of the besti have used it before on previous RV, and will do so again if needed for this one

liquid rubber is also a 2 part mix, says so right on the can

i used liquid roof, on the Alu roof of (2) MH's

Discdotr, looking at the application information on the site, Liquid Rubber can be applied to different substrates and materials. Where as the Liquid Roof, requires a catalyst and I believe when talking to them, it was only recommended for coverage over EPDM. They were very good to talk to and answered questions I had.

all 'reflection' helps, but i don't know how much

but on an 80* day i can sometimes get by with fans, instead of A/C

on a hot day you have hot 'air temp' and are still going to need the A/C

today was 75* got by with fans and open windows, yes my roof is white

unless your roof is dark, more heat comes in from sun on the windows, than from the roof

Since they are bright white, they will reflect more solar heat than an old, discolored roof.

I don't think there are many real rubber roofs today in RV or residential. They are either EPDM or some other synthetic.
