replace sofa bed

Has anyone one replaced a sofa bed with a loveseat double recliner. How hard was it and did you like it. Tried several searches but came up empty
  • Did it this spring and love it. Not that big of a project. As was stated the loveseat backs come off and the jackknife couch also come apart.

  • We replaced the fold out sofa in the rear with a theater seat sofa. Just a hunch but I believe most furniture disassembles for shipping purposes. I was told that by a sales guy. Unless the chair has a fixed back, then the back should slide off. Only issue is the height of the arms. Since most furniture is too deep to go thru the RV door level, it needs to be turned on edge. So the distance form the floor to the top of the arm is usually the critical one for getting it in the RV.
We went with 'Best Furniture'. They seem to have a bigger selection of smaller sized recliners of which we needed for our 5er.
  • We have a 2013 Fuzion 310 we replaced the original with a 3 seat 2 recliner sofa from a local furniture warehouse. had to remove one of the sliding doors to get the original pieces out but the new was easy since the backs are easily removable. Its so much more comfortable. best 350 dollars I've spent.

You must live near better stores than I do. LOL! We're having problems just getting a couch for the house.

  • Most lazy boy stuff lets you remove the back. also some loveseats separate into two "chairs". Look at the bottom of the loveseat. It may bolt together.
  • I main problem is the narrow width of the door. You have to make sure that you can get the furniture thru it. I had to disassemble the chair we brought in, and I made certain that it could be taken apart before I bought it.

Theoretically you could remove a window to make an bigger opening but I wouldn't want to do it.
