I always check my tire pressure before I leave. Even doing this it did not prevent 3 blowouts in the past year. After the third blowout, we bought the TireMinder Tire pressure monitor. It also monitors the temperature of the tires. I can also use it when towing my Jeep, utility trailer and boat trailer. Just purchased a new RV and now we hope we can catch a problem before it happens.
Question--were you running ST tires when the 3 blowouts happened?
I have had NO blowouts since switching to LT tires 4 years ago(knock on wood):)
Good luck with your new rig /enjoy - C-BearsExplorer

If you had three tire failures in a year wouldn't you think your tires were either underrated for the weight towed, or the tires could be defective or worn out? - CarlT100Explorer

I carry a 30" section of 1 inch steel pipe as a tire thumper, along with a IR temp indicator. At every stop , I feel the tires and hubs with my hand, check IR temp and thump each tire on 5er and TV. Better to be aware of a problem prior to rolling on the highway.
The section of pipe is handy for other things too in states that do not permit firearms..........................

Just have other priority uses for my $$ right now. I do check TP a few days before we leave on a trip. Last spring I was check the tires as we prepared to leave Texas. All tires but one was within 2# of maximum pressure; the one was down to 40#. Filled it up and checked it the next day; down again also. Removed it and found a chunk missing all the way down to the cord. Must have happened on our last leg into the park the previous fall as I check all the tires at each stop. A quick trip to the nearest Discount Tire resulted in a matching tire and we were good to go. Routine maintenance is a pain, but sure has some gratifying results.

I have a Boat, utility and 5th wheel I comes in handy to check my outboards to be sure I have good coolant flow through both engines. Watch for them on sale at Harbor Freight. I also use it to check road surface temps when its extremely hot.
