Blowout damage. What are these wires and metal piece?

I had a blowout on the side under a slide. I am attaching pictures of wiring that was damaged. Fortunately, it didn't destroy the underside of the floor/belly/slide, but did destroy some wiring and a metal piece. It was trailing towards the back of the camper and I had some side cutters so I cut it off. The metal piece is still attached and I've got to figure the best way to cut it off. It's about 5 feet long and fairly strong, yet can be bent without too much trouble. I've looked under my other slide and see no similar piece, so I have no idea what it's for.

I haven't yet tried to extend this slide. The wiring was in a coiled rubber sheath, like the old coiled guitar cords. I am guessing it was supplying the 120v light it the ceiling of the slide. I know I need to plug into shore power and see if it will come on. There are actually 2 sets of wires as you will see in the picture so I also wonder where both go. I also need to check my brake and marker lights and see if they still work. My shore power isn't grounded the bast, as I have felt current in my hands intermittently in the past when grabbing the ladder (nowhere else oddly enough), however, I've never felt it in my truck! I left it hitched since I am going for new tires (I pray for the next 5 miles to get there) and when I touched my truck after hooking to shore power, I got the tingle. I got my meter (which I hardly know how to use) and nothing showed on the trailer and virtually nothing on the truck, but when I touched it again there was no question, so I unplugged it. I am suspecting it's due to this new damage with maybe the wires shorting, but the ones hanging out are not touching anything. nonetheless, I have wiring in that building it's coming out of to repair.

Unfortunately, the wiring in the hole leading up into the slide is not visible and I really can't tell how to get into it easily. I do have a small inspection camera that I will insert to look for it. I'm assuming it's where the coiled cord went in. Please look at the pictures and give me an idea of what to do if you have one, even if it's taking it up with the insurance company. Unfortunately, my deductible is high but I also have a roof issue that also just occurred and may be claimable.

PS, Safeco roadside assistance SUCKS! They did say the contacted 15 different places and that none would come out because they were either out of area or didn't service rv's. I was approximately 40 miles from downtown Birmingham Alabama! Getting it safely off the shoulder and into a nice woman's driveway was nearly a disaster and changing the tires on our own was a dilemma that only wasn't a disaster due to us being only 15 minutes from home and assistance from relatives. Oh, did I mention our microwave died 2 days prior to returning and we went through 2 hellacious thunderstorms in 4 days (and no, lightning didn't knock out the microwave but it tried).

Well, please be patient while I post pictures to facebook and then provide a link, as once again, I cannot add images from my computer to this post.
