Camco 5th wheel cover

I have a designer series 5th wheel cover and the cover has been ripping along 2 different seams. My 2 yr warranty runs out this fall so I want to make sure they replace it before that happens. Upon contacting Camco, they told me to cut out the torn sections and send them to them for warranty consideration. The problem lies that I can re-use this old cover with a helping of duct tape and get by for the upcoming winter, or, cut out a couple of nice sections which duct tape won't fix and I'm basically screwed if Camco denies my claim. What have your experiences dealing with cover warranty issues with Camco? I sent them email pics and that wasn't enuff proof I guess.

  • Yeah, you're prolly right. I'll contact them again and have them re-iterate their instructions then get out the scissors.

  • Maybe they just want a piece so that the cover is useless and then they will send you a new one. Rather than shipping the whole thing back? I had a Keurig coffee maker that had issues and as part their warranty protocol, I had to send them the k-cup holder before they would ship me a new unit. The thing still worked...sort of, until I sent them the holder.
