I filled my fresh water tank today preparing for a trip and I noticed the city water inlet is now dripping. Water pump is working properly. Any thoughts?

Next time you're at Home Depot pick up a brass hose nipple, some hose caps, and several hose washers. They'll come in handy when you're away from home and this leaks again or you need to be creative connecting hoses or stopping leaks. At less than $6 for the lot someday you'll be glad you have them.

Level of fresh water tank has NOTHING to do with that check valve.

It is there to prevent water from squirting out the side of your RV when using the on-board pump.
It is just a plastic plunger/spring/o-ring assemble......city water pressure pushes it open. Spring pushes it closed when you turn off city water supply.
Pump discharge pressure forces it closed when using pump.

On-board pump has an internal check valve to prevent water from backflowing thru pump when using city water supply.

City water and pump discharge are connected.

Is it time for your medication or mine?

Yeah, do not push in the the check valve when the pump has the system pressurized, you will blow the rubber seal off inside the valve. Ask me how I know? Chris

Every time, well twice, that I have pushed on that check valve it was ruined. I ended up having to replace the whole city water fitting. Your luck maybe better, maybe not. Good luck, John

There is a check valve in the inlet fitting (allows the system to be pressurized by the pump). They usually have an o-ring seal, it my be damaged or dislocated. The fitting can be replaced. I found mine on Ebay.

Most likely the one way valve just beyond the City water inlet has some trash in it. Need to stick something small in the city water inlet and push a couple of time in hopes you will make the one way valve seal better...

Just my thought..

City water inlets have a check valve built into them to hold back your pump pressure.
For the meantime put a plug in it ( male hose thread plug) to save your water.

Is this the same fitting that is used for the (city water) hook up? if so then the seat is not functioning properly. If this is so then it is pressurized when the pump is (on). You might try reseating it as there may be some debree under the valve. JMHO
