Hi Baja Man!
Sounds like you have the right idea! However, make sure that you do not put the Dicor Lap Sealant under the new skylight. Instead, put butyl tape between the skylight and the roof.
Use Dicor Di-Seal over the edges of the panels that are for repair.
Wipe existing seal with a cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol and then re-caulk any voids or cracks – it is not necessary to remove the old seal if it is stuck to the roof.
