I have asked for comments on this engine, since I recently bought one , a 2003 dually, not knowing it to be a 6.0. NOW ..... I wish to MODIFY my question as follows ..... Have any of you actuall...

You didn't happen to mention YOUR personal experiences with either of these engines. I welcome any experiences YOU have had with either.

I have the truck in my signature that has given me 100k trouble free hard pulling miles. I recently started having one injector giving me some minor issues. Synthetic oil and archoil 9100 additive cleared it up. Just as many others on here advised you, its been a fine truck. I just hate you got rid of what was a better truck in basically every aspect without first trying it out for yourself. Remember the thing about opinions. There like buttholes. Everybody has one and they all stink except yours. I honestly do wish you the best. I just don't think you improved anything. You just have a truck with different weaknesses now. But again, that's my opinion, and it may stink!
