Heat Light frozen questions please

Ok onto the next challenge. It is 6 degrees here and I have a heated hose have left sinks and shower dripping those all working fine however the water that flushes the toilet is not working. Now this may be ok as I am thinking less water less to freeze in the black tank anyway. I bought some lights after the last freeze up and not being able to use a regular heat tape on water pipes after all.
I did hook up the light with only a 50 watt regular bulb and it is in storage or what I think you guys call the basement. Nothing...
I also bought a red heat light bulb that is 250 watts. is it safe to have this under there? does anyone have any experience with that it is the type that has the shiny aluminum cup that houses the bulb and a clip that can be clipped into place. Since last big freeze up when I was froze up off and on for five days I did locate the water lines behind the panels in the basement. Although I am not sure which one is the line to the toilet...Any help with this is appreciated,,,please!
  • Since the light bulb did nothing I asked a camper neighbor to come take a look he is an electrician and said that the socket on the aluminum bulb is only good for 100-150 watt (I think it said) and could possibly burn out the socket on the light so I opted for the little heater instead which did the trick. I will use the red light one if needed to thaw out black tank...the next issue...
  • The cheap metal light fixtures are perfect with 45/60 watt lights in them. I put o e every place I can.
  • I've got one line like that in my KZ... It's installed outside the cabin, behind the black tank. I have no access to it at all for heat trace or a light bulb. Around -14F it will freeze and no more cold water for sink or toilet. The main line remaining open thanks to hot water recirculation.
  • Watch any bulb over 60watts.
    Things get hot too.

I use a small fan forced heater set on low, the circulation really goes everywhere in the area. 20+ years and many, many people iv told of this.
None to date have ever had a problem since.

    Small, as in wallyworld cheap.
  • When I was living in minus 34C in my TT I used a radiant heater underneath to thaw things. It worked well. You just have to make sure you keep it far enough away to avoid too much heat on the desired location.
I laid the heater on the ground pointing up on an angle.
Worked better than heat lamps because it had a wider dispersment than a bulb.
