HELP WITH WATER LEAK - WATER EVERYWHERE.

OK I need some help. This morning I was hearing a humming noise between my kitchen and bathroom. Probably should have stayed home from work and dealt with it, but I didn't. Anyway, got home from work and the nice gentleman across the way came over and said he turned off our water cause it was gushing from underneath our rig. So we went in the RV and the kitchen sinks were full, as was the toilet. I immediately went and opened the drain on them. We keep the shower one open anyway. That emptied the sink and toilet, then I proceeded to mop up the floors. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas on what happened. All faucets were turned off. I verified that. So whatever it is,somehow it allowed a grey and a black tank to overflow.

No, there are 3 separate drains, one for the kitchen, one for the shower/bathroom sink and a third for the blackwater. I do have a black water washer. I looked to see if it was off. It is possible it didn't get turned off all the way with just a slight opening. That might explain the black water, but not the kitchen sink filling up. The shower didn't fill up but we leave that one open all the time. Just use the kitchen for flushing after disposing the black tank.

Some RVs drain some of the gray water sources (such as your sink) into the black tank. Do you have only one drain valve that you opened that drained both the sinks and the toilet? If so, it sounds like something filled the black tank and backed it up through the drains. Do you have a black tank flusher? Could that have been what you heard this morning? If so, it sounds like someone turned on your black tank flushing spigot at the pedestal if the flushing hose was hooked up. (There are a lot of unknowns in your post that require a lot of speculation on my part....)

I don't think it was a tap because that wouldn't fill both grey and black water tanks. But I sure don't know. We are fulltimers. But that is not a bad idea to turn the water off when we are not here.

At first guess, I'd say some part of your fresh water system had a leak (like a tap). It filled up your grey tank and overflowed the shower drain and sinks. Not sure why the toilet tank filled? After flooding both my rvs numerous times, I always turn off the city water supply when leaving the rv for any time over 5 minutes. No water available....no floods. In my case, on 3 occasions on 2 different rvs the fresh water valve in the toilet failed, filling the bowl and flooding the rv.
