OK...just got an answer from an email to Hercules...the H901 is sourced to China! Question answered!

But the salesman said they were made in Ohio by Cooper! I guess that ends that..

Contact the company and check the speed rating on the tire and load rate, I just bought new tires and I bought Cooper LT's and am not sorry. Good Luck

Speed rating:
GY says inflate your Marathons 10psi *over* the max sidewall psi and they're good for 75mph!
Yeah, right!

Check the country of origin code on *YOUR* tires.

BTW - nothing "wrong" with a tire mfg in China.....Michelin has tire factories in China.

The Chinese are capable of manufacturing to the specs required.

Will the LT Coopers -no matter where they were mfg- do as well as another brand?

Hercules tires have been around for many years mostly in farm and ranch and small town areas around here anyway. I've used their USA made 16.5" light truck tires on one ton DRW trucks years back with no issues.

Like the china ?? made Sailun S637 LT the H901 could prove out to be a good tire for trucks and trailers. Time and miles will prove one way or the other as the H901 was just released late 2013.

Bit the bullet...I really didn't want to spend the extra money unnecessarily but I was just not confident with the Sailun, Hercules or Hankook options. Couldn't find a dealer to order the Sailuns...even if I mailed ordered them I would always be wondering as we traveled down the road if I made the correct decision. The Hankooks are only good for 3330 lbs a little shy for 7000 lb axles and I received a lot of negative messages regarding the Hercules. Alas, Camping World has my $1200 for GY 614's. Right or wrong, I do feel a little more confident with the GY tires.

the ST tire from Hercules "Power STR" has a LRF of 3960lbs@95psi and a speed rating of 75mph....Most don't realize the speed rating of ST tires is 65mph...The GY Marathons I had on my 5th wheel just didnt hold up well on my Montana and after needing my 3rd tire all with in one year I to wanted to upgrade to a stronger tire and not go broke at the same time..I like to travel about 350 to 400 miles a day at 65 to 68 mph and so I needed a higher speed rated tire with a load rating of at least 3800lbs...The Hercules looked like the tires I wanted, so I bought 4 of them 3 months ago and traveled 1200 miles on them...holding up well and cool to the touch after driving 3 hours...Next year on my Trip to the Grand Tetons approx 4500 miles of driving will be my big test..Good Luck on your Tire Hunt....
