Is 37' to much for a shortbed SRW??

Russ, yes I did read the post. The OP is not only concerned about the length of the proposed rig but also seems to be concerned about the pin weight. I pull a 40' rig with a short bed Chevy D/A and was concerned about the pin weight also. After much research I determined that one of the main limiting factors of increased pin weight is the rating of the rear tires. To put my mind at ease I installed heavier duty tires on the TV. The length was never an issue, and I've pulled the 40' rig thousands of miles with all types of winds with no stability problems. Hope this helps.....

First off that's a nice looking truck for an 2001. My 2004 F350 weights 8,200# with us and fuel so you will probably tip the scales around 7,500#. 9,900 GVWR - 7,500(guess) = 2,400# cargo. The trailer you are looking at will probably end up between 11 and 11,500# actual with food and stuff. So 20% is 2,300# pin weight.

It's close and as others have said a trip to the scale is in order. Is the empty weight for the trailer from the actual trailer or a brochure? The brochure will not represent the options you may or may not have. The actual dry weight sticker on the trailer should be as it left the manufacturer.

lawrose: nice looking rig but I had to chuckle as my F350 almost weighs the same as your whole rig. Keep the shiny side up and the dirty side down..... :)

The truck camper payload has nothing to do with the trucks payload. Make a trip over to the TC forum and let some of those guys explain.
Anyhow looking at Fords '01 spec pages show a truck camper payload of 2515 to 2684 lbs for the F350 cc 7.3 truck.

Then on the payload pages it shows the F350 SRW cc 7.3 with a 3280 to 3350 lb payload. Looks like another well matched combo like others have said.

Trucks don't carry weight determined by the GVWR. Like all truck your F350 SRW carries weight determined by the axle/tire load numbers.
Many older F350 SRW truck may have around 2800-2900 on the rear axle that has a 6830 lb rating. Subtracting the two has around 3800 lbs for a payload.

Best method is weigh the trucks front and rear axle separately. That way you have the actual numbers to work with.

Short bed ??
A short bed truck with a crew cab has a 156" wheel base which will have no problems pulling any legal length trailer.

IMO much gets put in print about a long bed truck handles better than a short bed truck. That was true many years ago when short bed trucks ran in the 118"-122" wheel base range and our long bed truck ran in the 130-134" wb range.
Todays short bed trucks may start in the 140" wb range and go up in wb length. Bed length is a moot point but handling is more to do with wheel base.... to a certain point.

I don't get into weight wars, but I will comment on your trailer and truck. I have basically the same rig, except a 2002, and a similar RV. The one piece advice I can give is buy a slider. Yeah, it's not always necessary, but it sure makes hitching and unhitching for me much easier. With my old hitch, I could not let down my tailgate. It was a real pain making sure I backed up far enough to raise the tailgate, but not so far back my tailgate hit the fifth wheel. Now, I always slide my new hitch in the maneuvering position so I can raise and lower my tailgate and easily hook up the lights. I slightly bent my tailgate once pulling forward a little to far, so the extra investment is worth it.

Found my slider on Craigslist for $200, so look around.

And if you read my posts im all under weights per catscales.. Not over axles or GVWR..
