Trying to revive this discussion. To the OP, how did it turn out for you?

I don't see a problem except for the pin weight. Whats your payload rating from the trucks door sticker. Some 250's can be quite low. Especially in the upper trim levels. The 5'er's stickered weight will be higher than the brochure weight but usually not more than a few 100lbs. Just because the 5'er has a high GVW that doesn't mean you'll load that much in. Our 5'er has a GVW of 4300+/-lbs and we only load 1400lbs or so in it. Some people use the RAWR for figuring pin weights. That's up to you.

I'm towing a Silverback that has an empty weight of 10,041 pounds with a 2010 F250 with the 6.4 diesel without a problem. That includes towing mountain grades in Colorado and West Virginia. Believe me, you will have no problem towing a Sandpiper 32QBBS with the Superduty 6.7 liter diesel.

EDIT 2: You are correct. the proper numbers for a fifth wheel are 16,300 lbs. good eye!

Those truck specs look like they're for the 6.2 liter GAS engine or you're looking at the trailer towing specs not the fifth wheel specs. Look at the specs for the 6.7 Turbo Diesel and fifth wheel towing. In your original post you said you were looking at a diesel.

The Ford site says the F-250 we're looking to buy can tow up to 14,000# as a fifth wheel. the 12,000" spec came from the dearler's listing. So far I can't find any complete specs on this sandpiper floorplan and we haven't been to a dealer yet (no need to get our hopes up if it won't fly).

Your 2012 F250 diesel has a fifth wheel towing capacity ranging from a low of 15,200 pounds for a CrewCab 4X4 to a high of 16,700 pounds for a regular cab 4X2.
The Sandpiper that you are looking at has an unloaded vehicle weight of 8850 pounds. I believe RVW has the wrong GVWR for that fifth wheel. BTW, the 32QBBS is a "select" model designed to have lower tow weight and has a slightly lower price than the regular Sandpiper models.

You will have no problems whatsoever towing that fifth wheel with your Superduty. Go for it and enjoy your purchase.

I wouldn't believe RVW's weight rating, they didn't make the trailer, they just want to sell it to you.
According to the link you provided, that fiver has an empty weight of 8850#. If its GVWR is 13,896, that means its carrying capacity is over 5,000#!! I don't think so.
Get the weight ratings from Forest River or actually look at the trailer.
If the specs are correct in the link you provided, then your F250 can probably handle it.
But get the correct figures, first!!
