Leaking HEHR windows in slide

Does anyone know where to get new seals for HEHR windows? Both of the side windows in my slide are leaking. They are horizontal slide type. The water is sneaking in the bottom seal and coming in under the frame.

Sorry. To clarify, it's not leaking between the frame and the body of the camper. It's the seal between the glass and the frame. I watch the water drip down the glass and go right by the seal then see it start dripping inside from under the inside frame. Thanks for the responses so far.

I had this exact problem. I fixed it by taking black 100% silicone purchased at Lowes Home Center, running a small bead around the window right at the joint between the glass and rubber seal, and then taking my finger and lightly running all the way around the seal and smoothing it out. This creates a really great seal. You can also run a slight bead around where the rubber seal meets the metal frame and also run your finger around to smooth it out. Be careful not to use too much. By using black silicone it looks a great deal like the original rubber and unless you know this has been done and get up really close you can't see it.

I did this right after purchaing my 06 fifthwheel used in 09 and here we are in 5 seasons of use and I have absolutely no leakage what so ever. My window leaked so bad that it filled up the aluminum track area on the inside and then begin to run down the wall!! I had been considering purchasing a new rubber seal and trying to install it before remembering that I had sealed the winshield on a boat several years ago and also had repaired the rear window glass leak on an automobile. For some reason silicone sticks to glass really well.

Don't waste time and money trying to replace a difficult seal....
  • I had two windows on a slide that had no weep holes. I drilled two small holes in the frame just below the glass. The leak damaged the slide foor. Problem solved.
  • I didn't even think of that. Thanks for the tip, I will try that tomorrow.
  • Look on the outside of the rig for slots in the frame. These become clogged and over flow the frame rails same as what "Love 2 Tow" is talking about.
I have had to pull the exterior seal that surrounds the window.
Need to clean the passage between the inside and outside rails. There should be small slits.
  • if these are the same windows i had in my cameo, you have to clean out the track that the glass slides in. there are 2 or 3 drain slots in there that can plug up with needles and dirt etc that can cause the water to get around the bottom of the glass and leak inside.

    Need to clarify!
The leak is between the window frame and the outside wall.
If this is the case, the best way is to remove the window and replace the butyl tape. Requires removing screws around the interior window frame, then with a helper push the window out. Get butyl tape wider then what you expect to use. After installing window trim off excess.
Odds are the leah is on the top working it's way around the frame.
Sure, you can use sealant, but that is stalling permenent corrective action.

    X2
If you do need Hehr products your going to need those little tiny numbers on your window to match up exactly what you need. But as noted I'd say 90% of leaks are between outside of the window frame and inside of RV window frame. I like to use doubled up "tacky tape". Be careful getting window out they are expensive if you break them.
