for anybody looking for a solid tire choice on slightly lighter rigs (10k lbs or so) I just put on a set of LT215/85R16E Bridgestone Duravis R500HD tires on my unit to replace the BFG Commercial T/A's that after 4 years from the datecode developed tread separation.
Sidewall to sidewall there is a big difference in thickness from the R500s to the T/a's and while pulling the 5er seems much less prone to ride the ruts.
Seeing as I have a 2500 mile trip coming up later this week I though it was wise to invest in a new set of tires beforehand....
