I don't think that has the HD payload package. I believe the HD payload came with a 3.73 rear end. Again check the door sticker to be sure.

It will tow the trailer ok. But you will be close if not over on the rear axle rating.

Like was said above, if you like the trailer get it. If your not happy with how the truck pulls. Keep the 5er and trade the truck.

Mark, towing a FW is more about payload, than weight being pulled. Without the 7-bolt wheels, E-rated tires, an F150 can easily be over rawr, and tire rating.

A dry pin of 1300, will be at least 1500, with just regular load in FW. You have to add 200#s more for the hitch, plus anything in truck, family, gear, etc.

When you look at tire loading chart in the truck, it will tell you how much load, this truck, can safely carry.

If you like the FW, maybe buy it, and get a used 3/4 ton to tow it. If the FW has been cared for, it could last another ten years, with continued care.

Not withstanding the towing weight issues, I would look at the price of this combination. If you could pick it up close to wholesale value then maybe peddle the truck and get something different to tow that Jayco with. Who knows, you may be able to actually come out pretty good on the final price of the RV that way.

That is assuming the owner new what he was doing!!!!! Salesman said it would tow any 5th wheel!!!

2010 the EB wasn't available. First year for it was 2011.

OP'er you need to get all the numbers off the door sticker. Especially the yellow payload sticker. Off hand I would say you would be ok but it will depend if the F150 has been maintained.

I have a 2004 Expedition with the 5.4 that has 247,000 miles on it. Still runs and drives good.

2010 should have the 5.4 in it. While not the fastest to the top of the hill, it is a very capable motor. Good luck, John

urbanspirit, to give you a direct comparison, with regards to the F150, here is my setup, some hard numbers and the rate limiter.

My C1500 Silverado with tow package is rated to pull 9,600 lbs. The trailer fully loaded weighs in at 7,700. The Springdale 247FWRLLS has one of the lightest pin weights for the size of the trailer and I'm within 130 lbs of my rear GAWR, 97% of its capacity. I'm within 10% of the truck's GCWR.

I get around Texas okay, have been into the Ozarks with a slightly smaller TT. I won't go to Colorado! I got into (and out of!) Palo Duro Canyon in the Texas panhandle with it's 10% grade with the Springdale. Where the engine shows it limitation is at 65 mph into a headwind. A lot of shifting down to 3rd with revs jumping up to 3,500+ forcing me to reduce speed.

Look at the sticker on the F150 for weight ratings. If you can, get the truck to some scales to know what the rear axle weight is and do the math. Every size pickup has its limitation, just be sure you know what you've got before departing with your cash.
