Prodigy brake controller

My Prodigy brake system worked the first couple times we used it.( Already on truck we bought). Then it didn't work with the brake, but did with the manual lever. Then neither worked. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and I thought it reset itself because it worked for a couple of brakings, but then nothing. Is there an easy way to check if it is the unit or the wiring? Thanks

When I hooked to my equipment Trailer, I get a NC and my brakes would work randomly. I never get that towing the fifth wheel so it has to be the wiring or plug on the equipment trailer.

The code shows not connected, I would check the trailer plug and the socket it plugs into on the truck then the wires going to the brakes.

I would say your problem is not with the controller.

Yeah, I'd start looking at the controller itself. Check that connection, should be a prewired harness that's vehicle specific to YOUR vehicle. From there start looking at the rear of your truck and look for bad connections there.

There's an outside chance your rear socket is messed up (corroded), that's what happened to me a few years ago. I usually got an error code tho.

Its frustrating for sure, take your time you'll find it.

Is it displaying any error codes? When you connect it, does it show a C for connected?
