It did work with my last vehicle, then it doesn't work with this truck, but when I get home I will try it again. Just for set up purposes does the TT have to be connected to the tow vehicle?
No one can answer intelligently as you still haven't told us if this is a Tekonsha Prodigy RF unit. :h
OP most likely has a P2.
That is figured out via the PN the OP gave in the FIRST POST in which they stated. "Prodigy 120065-084"..
Looking up Prodigy 120065-084 gave noting in internet searches, BUT removing the -084 I got
THIS RESULT which is the manual for a Prodigy P2..
In the manual it states Prodigy 120065-006, the -084 the OP has is most likely the REVISION LEVEL that they have..
Therefore the OP DOES NOT HAVE A "RF" version..
The OP is most likely having issues with the FEEL of the brakes and calling it "syncing"..
That is most likely because they did not install the unit correctly OR the brakes on the vehicle do not act the same as their previous vehicle..
No way of us knowing, BUT..
The OP needs to CAREFULLY READ AND FOLLOW THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS TO THE EXACT LETTER in order to get that unit to function correctly.
IT MUST be orientated SQUARE with the vehicles direction..
Per manual..
" NOTE:
1.Front of the Prodigy P2 must be horizontal(+_20degrees),see below.
2.The Prodigy P2 must be parallel to direction of travel(+_20 degrees), see below."While they do spec +/- 20 degrees it will work better when it is ZERO degrees or dead on straight with the direction of travel.
Then once that is done it MUST be set correctly for "boost" gain ect..
