rear toy garage door clearance height

Wondering how to access various manufacturers clearance dimensions on the rear cargo door height.
I'm looking to buy a used toy hauler (2012-2014), but also have my eye on a SxS that has a 6ft 6inch (78") height to top of roll cage. Is there a typical standard dimension on everyones door ?
And is that height measured to the bottom of the optional dining/bed accessories?
Anyone out there with some advice where to get this info?
Thanks!
  • the TH ramp door heights do vary from mfg to mfg and model to model. I've seen them from 6'6" to 7' to 8' , and no that door height clearance does not allow for any hanging bed or dinette; those usually lower the overall clearance. My Raptor came with both a bed and dinette hanging from the up/down garage rack and they combined to lower the clearance so far I was laying on the fuel tank of my Harley when loading. I never used the garage bed, so eventually I removed it completely to gain some head room.
Those dimensions are usually found somewhere in the sales/spec sheet for each model.
  • We have to queen size beds hanging in our Adrenaline 228fb, our door is full height though, we have Can Am Commander 1000XT that fits with an inch or two to spare.

It's usually not the door that is the problem, it's the stuff hanging down.
  • I have a Desert Fox 29SB with two power bunks in the back. As long as the bunks are all the way up top I can fit my Polaris RZR 1000 in there with about an inch to spare. I originally had a four wheeler ATV when I got the trailer so it wasn't an issue that ever came up. When I went shopping for the RZR I looked for manufacturer spec sheets to no avail. The only way to be sure it fits though is to take some measurements with a measure tape.

Remove the beds if you don't need them!

You are correct, hard to find any measurements, we brought our SXS to the dealer put it in the trailer to see how it fit, then bought the toyhauler.
  • All good info, thanks all. Sounds like the only tried and true method will be the tape measure and Mark 1 Eyeball.
