Thanks. And you are right, not very often does it see really bad roads. But with a painted trailer, I wanted to keep as much road debris from the trailer as possible.

I made one that goes in my receiver, it is 8' wide, using 4 24" rubber mud flaps, 2"x2" angle iron and 2" square tubing, I have less than $30 in it and works as good or better than ones you can buy.

Now that is a clean well kept truck, can't imagine it going through the mud, or driving on gravel.

Wow! $300 for mud flaps. Who'd a thunk. And ugly to boot. :)

Not a 5er, but I used a Rock Guard for my TT for years. It DID help a lot. Mine had 2 sets of 2-3 inch flaps that over lapped each other, from the end to the middle. It attached over the hitch that slid in the receiver. I also had mudflaps on my truck. Between the 2, I feel pretty certain it's saved my campers from getting beat up.

Now, I have an Equal-i-zer WD hitch system. It doesn't fit right on hitch any more, so haven't used it in a couple years now. But, I very seldom, if ever, go down gravel roads.

They do help, I really believe that!

I have Road Wings on my truck and a full flap on the rear of the trailer as I double tow a boat. I would not be without them since the first time I towed on a paved road that had been chipped sealed. It caused many chips in the two trailers.
