Last three 5er's have had slides. I have totes that I place on mine and the slides are great. The one I have now is huge and there is room under it for small things like loose golf clubs and ?????
Kinda like slide toppers some like them and some don't. I personally hate them and I have had it both ways.
The slide I have now is made by MorRyde and is the best one so far. - TheAmRheinsExplorerI have the slide in the basement. I put 2x2s under the rails to raise it off the floor.now I store extention cords fishing poles etc under the slide.
- NC_HaulerExplorerI also had a slide out in sig 5ers basement....It took up a lot of room and after a lot of thought, I removed it.. Now I have more room to store things....I've had 5S & ergonomic training and everything has found it's place in my 5er's basement and is easily accessible from one side or the other.... you don't have to crawl in, stretch or contort yourself to get to anything we need. I figured rails, roller system and whole roll out was around 120# or more of taking up quite a bit of floor space that could be used for something else...and we were right. The wife and I like this set up much better than the slide out that came with the 5er....one of several things we've done to our 5er that make it more 'user friendly'...Don't regret moving it one bit, and haven't missed it at all.
- RollandBExplorerour 5er had one the PO removed so have thought about putting one it, but looking at the height it takes away and haven't done it. On one side I have most everything in bins that slide easy which works well. On the camp site side I have the chairs we use, BBQ, Coleman stove and Easy Up canopy. We don't have a bunch of extra stuff we don't use so this system we use works for us.
- Davion206ExplorerThank you for the posts. Our concern is adding another 265 lbs of bedslide in addition to all the essential items you need when fulltimimg. It was made for a pick up, so very heavy duty.

- Artum_SnowbirdExplorerI have just added a bit of a lift to one side of my storage to bring it up to door height, then covered it with a large cardboard slab. Now things just slide in and out easily into that part. I am hoping that it solves itself to see what goes in deep, and what doesn't.
