- avvidclif1ExplorerWhile I appreciate your concern Babler State Park is out of the question. First it's a 30+ mile drive to downtown which I will be making daily for the week I am there. Second I don't primitive camp. A campground with electric only hookups is not where I will stay for a week.
The Casino Queen will re-open April 6th. I'll have to wait until then to get rates, the folks at the hotel don't have a clue. The rates on the website will be changing from what I was told. The other park on Jefferson is cheaper but it remains to be seen how much. Both of them are just over a mile from the convention center. - arthurs_familyExplorerUmmm! I live in St. Charles and work in St. Louis. Babler state park is your safest, cleanest, cheapest, safest, yes i said safest twice campground with a nice shower house. Its 20-25 minutes from downtown and peace of mind to sleep at night. I wouldnt stay at the one on Jefferson St.or the Casino Queen. I dont care if they have security. When you park in a big parking lot surrounded by a 6' barbed fence theres a reason its barbed. I used to go that way to work daily and its in a bad area.
- hotpepperkidExplorerThe casino camp ground closes on 9-1 don't know when they open
- UstobefarmerExplorerYou might want to check with casino queen. I think the casino was sold last month but I didn't hear anything about the building or the RV park. Babbler state park is nice and closer to Grants Farm.
- hotpepperkidExplorerCovered Bridge in Fenton about 15 min from down town
- jnharleyExplorerMake sure you carefully follow the directions to Casino Queen if you go that route. Otherwise, you will be over the river into downtown St Louis. Good signs though for the Casino.

I'm going to check this one out. Thanks!
There is a campground in the City of St. Louis on Jefferson near downtown. It is St Louis RV Park, (314) 241-3330
Good Sam Ratings Facility 8.5 Restrooms 9.5 Appeal 4.5
Low appeal because it is basically a parking lot with full hookups and security.

Casino Queen is a great campground to stay at. They have a section for smaller rigs and another section for bigger rigs and we stayed in the bigger section and had full hook ups. No driving necessary into St Louis if you stay there. Babbler State Park and many of the other commercial parks are all the way over on the other side of St Louis and will require lots if driving and then finding a place to park. Many people worry since Casino Queen is located in East St Louis but this complex has lots of security. We rode the Metro everywhere (in the daytime) and had no issues at all. If it is game day, the Casino will shuttle you over to the ball park.
