Tire Pressure Questions while towing 5th wheel

I'm curious. How do you lower the air pressure without having the "low tire pressure" light come on? (2011 F-350 Super Duty)

current model F250 is rated to tow between 15,900 and 16,500 lbs.

Hook up with RV and TV loaded and hit scales. Use the weights with the tire/load chart for your tires. Add 5 pay to what the chart says.

Agreed. Door post on '90's Ford SUVs showed 28 psi for near-6k lbs vehicles. Anyone remember how many blew tires and rolled? Ford kept blaming the owners and the tires, when their own marketing people (it sure as hell wasn't the engineers) decided to sell vehicles with under-inflated tires from the factory, and their dealer's service people kept doing things "by the book". My dad had a late-80's E150 van that was sold with =passenger= tires. Was downright dangerous to drive, IMO, and I drove it as little as I could. Once he finally got someone to suggest putting LTs on it, it drove 100% better. Door post still recommended P-rated tires.

80 psi in a 3750 lb rated tire on a F250 with a 6100 RAWR with approx 5400 lb load. Thats not the best idea.

Your F250 may have a 3000 lb unladin rear axle weight

Your 12000 GVWR trailer may have a 2400 lb pin weight.

Together = 5400 lbs on your trucks rear axle. Now look at Norskeman pressure/capacity chart numbers he kindly posted for your to use.
It show a 55 psi for 5500 lb load. Lets add a bit of reserve pressure say to 6100 which is all your trucks 6100 RAWR.
Now you can use 65 psi for your max load for those large optional tires.

If you had OEM LT265/70-17 E at 3195 lbs capacity then,as I do, you could use the full 80 psi if needed.

I don't think you NEED 80 in the rear.
set to 80, weigh, get the actual rear axle weight.
round up 100lbs, add 10%, divide by two, use the table above.

I always set the tire pressure at those given on the door post.
